Motorcycle dent repair or motorcycle fuel tank dent repair is a complicated procedure. Motorcycle dent repair cost can also vary; Some things can cause issues when repairing motorcycle fuel tanks and fenders, the thickness of the tanks metal and internal baffles obstructions & custom paint jobs. Depending on the motorcycle fuel tank or motorcycle fender, the process can take anywhere from 1-6 hours. When your are shipping a motorcycle fuel tank or fender to us, please allow at least three days for the dent repair process based on if you scheduled thr repair ahead of time. Once completing repairs, a Smartpdr associate will take photos or video of the finished product and email or text them to you before we ship the part back to you. No. The most important factors in determining if PDR can repair a dent are depth and location. Dents the size of a dinner plate or larger can be fixed successfully, as long as they are not too deep. On the other hand, some dents that are as small as a dime but very deep, cannot be fixed using PDR because the metal is too stretched. Cracked paint can also be an indication that a dent is too deep.
The most typical dents fixed are the size of a golf ball, larger dents are possible. Most (about 95%) of minor dents can be repaired. About 5% of small dents can't be fixed due to depth or location. Areas such as some quarter panel opening lips, some forward areas of heavily braced hoods, or the very edges of some panels are examples of wrong locations.
